Kathmandu is a colorful and culturally vibrant city.Take a walk to the Durbar Square and the cobblestone paved roads lead you to the Kumari Ghar house of the living goddess Kumari. The old Freak Street at Jhonchhe Tole, has the same atmosphere, since the hippie culture in the 1960’s. The National Museum nearby enlightens you with the past. Swayambhunath, Stupa atop a hill offers a breathtaking view of the city below and very mischievous monkeys. Team up with Hindu devotees to offer respects to the gods at Pashupatinath Temple and watch the Babaji’s as they watch you with unwavering eyes! A short drive takes you to Boudhanath, one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world. The Tibetan settlers there demonstrate their traditional life as in Tibet. These historical and religious structures are listed as UNESCO heritage sites. Ease back and enjoy a Nepalese dinner. Head out to the Thamel area and meet people from different parts of the globe as there’s a heady mix of music from the Eastern and Western world. Overnight in Kathmandu.

You can free fall down 160 meters down from the suspension bridge above the Bhote Koshi River. Then there’s rafting in the white waters of BhoteKoshi River. It is another fun filled activity that energizes you as a whole, join a raft full of screaming people and feel free to scream as well. The Bhotekoshi river rafting is a full bodied experience; it is way beyond simply sitting idly and paddling. The occasional sense of calm comes around, when the raft glides on forward in a still pool of water, but only for a brief moment as the next second you will be heading down a raging rapid. The experience is just thrilling! Return to Kathmandu after a full day of fun-filled adventure, you can view some amazing scenery on the highway back to Kathmandu, maybe contemplate over the trek that you are going to take tomorrow. The road to Dhunche, a small town nestled in the hilly region of Rasuwa district, is smooth, winding and broken occasionally by bone-jangling sections. Your jaws are surely going to drop in bemusement, when you see a bus packed inside out with people, chickens and goats, rumbling downhill. When you get there be sure to get your hiking boots ready for tomorrow as it is the doorway to a whole new world for you, the Langtang Trekking region. While in Dhunche, stroll around and meet the locals who are friendly. Overnight in Dhunche.

The walk up to Singh Gompa, a Buddhist monastery is enchanting to say the least. You walk through a forest of oaks, hemlock and fir trees. If the weather permits, you will have a dazzling view of the Langtang Peak, Ganesh Peak and the Tibetan Mountain. The view of the surrounding landscape from Singh Gompa will forever latch on to your memory, for cheese admirers there is a small well-managed cheese factory there. Try some delicious, local cheese. Rest for the night, in one of the local tea- houses. Overnight in Singh Gompa.

The trail ahead demands a long walk up to Gosaikunda Lake. The rugged trail offers a dramatic view of many mountain ranges such as the Hiunchuli peak 7893m, Mount Manaslu 8156m and Ganesh Peak 7406m. On a clear day you will be able to see the Annapurna range rising up in the background. Feel the sense of pride as you pass the forest, rivulets and cross over the numerous hillocks that impede the way to the mystical Gosaikunda Lake. When you reach the lake, you will be mesmerized. Stand at the shores of the lake and watch as the breeze sends shivers on its surface and let spirituality set in as the tranquil waters soothe you to the core. The crude stone shrines dedicated to the gods nearby are splattered with red powder as the bright color contrasts with the dull hues of the rocks. The shore is lined with colorful prayers flags that flutter in the wind. Overnight in Gosaikunda.

It’s time to walk again from Gosaikunda Lake and ascend up to Laurebina Pass and walk above the clouds. The sea of clouds below you gives you a feeling that you are standing in the heavens. The trail leads you through rocky terrains and rolling hills in the background and the prayer flags that dot the area give you a feel of Tibetan influence. From here descend into the Helambu valley with superb views north to the Himalayas and south to forested hills to Ghopte at 3430 meters. It is an ethnic village comprising of stone-roofed houses, nestled in the middle of the foothills of the large mountain ranges. Its beauty will make you never want leave it. Overnight in Ghopte.

The rocky terrains give way to more lush vegetation, as you walk towards Khutumsang Village. The lush green meadows dotted with colorful prayer flags, and an occasional minor stupa makes you lose the sense of time. The fog, which hangs loose in the air, only adds to its splendor. The mighty Himalayan ranges follow you relentlessly. Overnight in Khutumsang.

Chisopani literally means cold water. The hilltop village at 2375 meters opens up the panorama to give us a sweeping view of the Himalayas, stunning, unending and seamless. It is also the first stop in the famous Helambu trek route. There are a handful of lodges here to choose from and all of them run on solar energy for an electricity substitute. You will now leave the wilderness behind on this last leg of the journey and go back to the outskirts of the urban jungle. As you step down towards Sundarijal, you will notice that it is a popular spot for urban settlers for a quick-getaway, picnics and excursions during the weekends. You might come across scores of people on a day hike or picnic, the roads become broader and are black-topped, and this is where you board a vehicle that will take you back to Kathmandu city, just 15 km away. Relax and let your legs rest a bit in Kathmandu, take a therapeutic Reiki foot massage. It works wonders! Overnight in Kathmandu.

The highway from Kathmandu to Chitwan National Park is just as scenic as any trek. Watch the world go by in a blur as you rumble down 98 kms towards Chitwan as it takes about 4-5 hours to reach there. The elephant ride in the National park lets you observe the wildlife in close proximity. While there, see if you can spot the famous one-horned Rhino in the vicinity. The elephants are gentle and you can jump into the river with them for fun. Relax in the evening or take a walk around the locality as there are things to discover. Overnight in Chitwan.

A walk through the jungle in the afternoon will take you to the banks of Rapti River where you can spot various aquatic life such as the Gharial (alligator) and the Mugger crocodiles while canoeing through the calm waters. Find out more about the ethnic Tharu community that inhabit the area and observe how they live in harmony with the wildlife, just beside their homes. A lunch break inside the park will provide you with a sweet break from your walk. Afterwards, join us on an adventure jeep drive through the jungle and try some stimulating bird watching. The last drive will take you to the Gharial farm; feel the responsibility of saving these creatures from total extinction. Try some of the authentic tastes of ethnic cuisines in Chitwan. The cool night air of the jungle and the traditional Tharu stick dance will set you in a mood for dancing the night away. Overnight in Chitwan.

Take on the highway again as there is one last place to visit before you head back to Kathmandu. The Manakamana Temple situated on a hill at 1302 meters is accessible via a cable car and. view down below at the raging torrents in the Trishuli River as you cross it as the elevation is gradual but very stimulating. The temple with its pagoda-style construction will set you at peace. It is believed that if you wish for a desire to be fulfilled with a pure heart, it will be granted. Drive back to Kathmandu. In the evening there will be a farewell dinner hosted by Amar’s Treks where we celebrate the successful completion of your journey. Overnight in Kathmandu.
